Jocren awoke to find himself standing upright on a machine with a rubber belt under his feet. He was covered head to toe in a thick rubber suit with numerous wires leading out to some unknown point behind him. The inside of the suit was comfortable though a bit on the heavy side. The ear piece in his right ear crackled, causing Jocren to cup his ear in pain.

“Good, now that all of you are awake, we can proceed with the first of many tests,” Narrator said, his voice coming through crisp and clear.

Jocren paying attention to what Narrator was saying, jumped with surprise when the belt beneath his feet began slowly moving. Stepping in pace to the moving belt, in order that he didn’t fall off, Jocren soon found himself beginning to sweat and yet his body seemed amazingly dry.

“Now as I promised before, I’d tell you what you want to know about how you were created. The simplest way of explaining this is to tell you that you are clones. In all sense and purposes you are all the same and yet, when I applied each of your profiles to the clones. Your bodies took on the characteristics of each one of you. I am your creator, your god and I will do with you as I see fit. Any questions?”

“Yeah, I have a question,” Ava replied. “If you are a god, then why do you need us completing tasks for you? Why didn’t you just go and get your own water?”

“My dear,” Narrator replied. “That is exactly what I am doing.”
