Cat and Mouse game part Three
Opening the bag, Jack removed the small semiautomatic pistol and tucked it into his waist band. Digging his hand into the bag again, he pulled out a pineapple grenade and moved that to his pocket. His great grandfather had wanted him to destroy that grenade, but Jack had decided to hang on to it, in case of emergencies and this definitely counted as an emergency. Not bothering to replace the vent, Jack stepped down from the bed and shouldered his bag, only to drop it again as he quickly made his way over to his desk where his laptop lay in the center. Opening the lid, Jack put in the required password and accessed a file marked security access. Being promoted to enter in another password, Jack frowned and pulled a thumb drive from his pocket. Plugging it into the side of his computer, he waited for the program to make itself known. Within seconds, a box popped up asking him to confirm the running of the program. Jack clicked the Yes button. The computer began to hum, and a line of numbers popped up underneath the marked security file. Typing in the numbers provided, Jack hit the Enter button and watched with satisfaction as list of choices popped up on the screen in front of him. Choosing the one that said, “Electronic shut down of all security feeds.” Jack clicked the Confirm button when he was promoted to do so. Instantly all the cameras were shutdown, as well as the security coms, including the one hidden in Jack’s ear, but he didn’t care. Jack knew the compound by heart and now the odds were in his favor.
‘Let them come for me,’ Jack thought to himself. ‘If and when they find me, I will be ready- though a distraction wouldn’t hurt either.’ Without a second thought, Jack hit a select number of key and then departed with the bag over his shoulder as a thirty second self-destruct sequence counted down on his computer.
