Cat and Mouse Game Part 1

“So in short,” General Porkster replied in response to Jack’s story, “Jill knew that you always prepped the machine and had waited for you to arrive for your weekly scheduled meeting, to purposely step into the path of the beam; with the hope that you would recognize her sacrifice by making sure that her program went off without a hitch.

“Yeah that about sums it up.”

“Okay,” Porkster replied. “I still feel that you’re not telling me the truth, however you may go back to your room and get the sleep you want, But know this, my technicians are going over the machine and they will know the truth within the next couple of hours. So, if there is anything you need to tell me, do so now.”

Jack looked into the general’s eyes and heart melted with fear. He was at first determined to ride this through, now though he knew that it was only matter of time before they found out what had really happened. so now he had to decide what he was going to do and quickly. But first he had to get out of this interrogation room and as far away from the General as possible.

“What’s on your mind, Jack” General Porkster asked. “Tell me now and it will be easier for you in the long run.”

“Rest, sleep, alone time, that is what I have on my mind.” Jack spat. “Now if you don’t mind, I would like to leave now.”

“You’re free to go,” General Porker replied. “For now.”

Jack scowled and jumped up from the table. “It’s about time,” Jack mumbled as he stormed to the door. Turning the handle, he found the door was locked. “Um do you mind,” Jack said turning to the General.”

“Oh yeah that’s right.” General Porker replied. “You need to be buzzed out, I completely forgot.”

“I bet,” Jack scoffed. “Now let me out.”

Smiling, General Porker turned around towards wall behind him and nodded his head. A loud buzz filled the air, as the door popped open. Grabbing the door frame, Jack rushed out the door only to hear the General say behind him, “Don’t go to far, I’m sure that we will need to talk again.”

Not bothering to reply, Jack stormed down the hall and out of view. As soon as he was gone, the door on the opposite side of the hall popped open and Turner walked through the door, pulling a garbage can behind him. Seeing General Porkster, he smiled and ambled on to the next room. Once Turner had entered the room, a man in a dark suit appeared behind the General. “Are you sure it was wise to let him go?”

“I’m not sure, but either way we need to find out what happened to Jill and I believe that this worm knows the answer.”

“So, what do you want me to do?”

“I want you to follow him but let him move around freely. I’m curious on what he will do. Also, I would like you to find out what you can on the janitor. He gives me the jitters.”

“Yes sir,” the man replied before heading quickly down the hall to ensure that he kept jack in sight.”

General Porkster watched the man disappear and sighed, I hate these cat and mouse games, but if this is the only way to bring Jill back, then so be it.”
