Jillian and the major cheese Festivals Part 4
That night, Jillian saw narrator again in her dreams. She was standing in a long poorly lit corridor and as the rain came thundering down, a sting of lightning crackled, lighting up the hall for a brief moment. There at the far end, Jillian saw a figure of a cat, a kitten to be precise. Its fur was white with grey and its eyes shone a cold brilliant blue. With a flick of its tail, the kitten took off down the opposite end of the corridor, disappearing from sight.
Determined not to lose her only point of contact in this strange place, Jillian took off after the kitten, determined to catch it. Sliding around the corner, Jillian saw the kitten at the end of the corridor jumping frantically in an effort to reach the latch that was just beyond its reach.. Carefully approaching the intended target Jillian crouched and inched slowly forward. When she was about three feet from the kitten, Jillian sprang, tackling the kitten to the floor.
With a yelp, the kitten struggled to free himself but Jillian held on tight, “Quit struggling,” she hissed.
As the kitten slowly calmed down, Jillian flipped him over, glaring into his face, “Who are you and what do you want with me.”
With a gulp, the kitten tried to sit up, but Jillian slammed him back on the ground. “My name is Pinky,” he gasped “And I have a message for you.”
“From who?” Jillian demanded.
“From me,” replied a cold emotionless voice, as Pinky’s eyes went blank. “Do you recognize me?”
Jillian was silent for a moment, then hesitantly replied, “Are you the narrator?”
“I am many things and by far your superior, but yes you know me as Narrator.”
“Okay,” Jillian hissed. “What do you want?”
“To distract you, while I slowly destroy you.” Narrator laughed. “Or perhaps, I’ll just end you now and save myself the trouble.”
Jillian had enough. Drawing her paw back, she cuffed Pinky on the left eye, snapping him back into focus. “Ouch that hurt,” Pinky cried.
“Shut up and listen,” Jillian hissed as the hall began to fade, “We have very little time before we’re found…”
