Enter into the digital world
The energy from the machine fizzled and shot up, engulfing Jill in a blue ball. Jack watched with satisfaction as her body was slowly broken down, until a blue dotted shape was all that remained. Glancing at the computer screen, Jack watched as bits of computer code ran down the screen. Now was the time to see if her program actually worked. Turning his attention back to Jill, Jack was surprised when the computer chirped a moment later. Looking back at the screen, he saw that a box had popped up on the monitor. Moving over closer to the screen, Jack read, ‘Do you want to add the rest of this code to the program? Y/N’. ‘Silly girl’, Jack thought.’ She wrote the remaining programing but forgot to add it in with the rest of the programming. Quickly hitting the Y button, Jack watched as the program folded in on itself and then disappeared from view. Withing moments, a round circular disk appeared on the screen and proclaimed that the programing was complete and that the center computer was beginning to run through its startup sequence. This step was further than either one of them had ever gone. Jack knew that today was the day and it was in thanks to Jill’s willing sacrifice. As the computer hummed to life and then picked up to its full speed. Jack watched whatever remained of Jill, get zapped into the computer’s terminal and then disappear into the digital world.
