Rise of the Rat King Part 2
Jillian’s first steps were to investigate Rats Smacks Cats. She had to determine that this despicable company was actually involved with the disappearance and it had to be done discretely. Jillian put Moonar (an up and coming agent who was determined to prove himself) on the job a week ago and was scheduled to receive an update this evening from him on the progress of the mission.
So far Jillian had yet to hear anything from him, so she decided to stay late and wait for contact. Sitting herself down at the in her office, Jillian looked up at the mouse clock mounted on the wall, taking note that it was only half- past six. Realizing that it was probably too early to be hearing anything from Moonar, Jillian figured she’d pass the time by starting on the memoir she’d always intended to write. Reaching into her desk, she pulled out a thick black journal and pressed her paw in the paw pad on the front cover. With a small flash the cover of the journal popped open revealing the first blank page. Picking up her favorite feather pen, Jillian allowed herself a few moments of pleasure by playing with the puffy pink feather that hung from its end.
Realizing she was getting distracted, Jillian placed the tip of the pen on the paper and wrote, “My story begins on the day I was born….” Pausing to read over the words she had written, Jillian thought of what to say next, but for the life of her, nothing came to mind. Closing her eyes and clearing her mind, in order to concentrate better, she soon fell asleep.
