Rise of the Rat King Part 1

Another adventure that Jillian had related to me took place shortly after getting back from her training with the Basset Clan. I believe (as I have previously stated) Jillian went right to work building her companies up into international giants that on the surface focused on the challenge of curing the epidemic of the empty food dish, but if one was to paw below the surface, they’d recognize the urgent undergoing of an organization prepping for what seems like a hostile takeover of mass proportions. Then she waited and watched.

At first things were slow, there was the occasional assassination or suspicious accident, but nothing that caused Jillian’s fur to stand up on end. And then about a year later, a string of minor incidents occurred that caught her attention, it involved and up and coming company called Rat Smacks Cat, which dealt in floor mats, cat collars, cat leashes and the sort of torture devices that made Jillian cringe in disgust. This activity alone, though highly questionable was not illegal and would raise no red flags, but when it was coupled with the mysterious death of common security guard and the sudden disappearance of influential fusion scientist who happened to be working on the means to make a force field that would render the user invisible as well as enhance whatever natural or chemically added abilities the user may possess at that the time.

Naturally this kind of project was of the highest national security. Few knew of its existence and only two knew what progress the scientist had made, one was missing and the other was Jillian (who had planted a flea bug in his office several months previous, in order to track his progress). Upon receiving the news of his mysterious disappearance, Jillian knew that she had to find him, she had to rescue him from whatever forces held him against his will. It was time for her to spring into action.
