Jillian in Space Part 12

Over the course of the next couple of hours, Jillian went over every detail and schematic of the space station. Everything had to be checked and rechecked, a task that she did with merely a hiss. When Jillian had assured herself that everything was functioning properly, she pulled out her phone and plugged it into the white portal in front of her. Tapping a few buttons on the keyboard, she accessed the file on her phone and began the upload of the final piece of software to the main computer. Suddenly alarms started blaring around the station, causing Jillian to jerk her head up in surprise. “What’s going on,” she meowed silently to herself. Tapping a few more keys, she switched off the alarms and moved the mouse to exit the program when a file name caught her attention, “Rats rule and Cats drool,” she hissed to herself. “What kind of nonsense is this?”

After scanning the file with the stations anti-virus, Jillian hesitantly clicked on it. A white screen flashed and picture of a laughing rat head appeared, bouncing around the screen. I was followed by another appeared and another. Soon her screen was filled with multiple laughing rat heads. Realizing that there was not time to waste, Jillian ripped her phone from the portal, bouncing it between her paws as it grew hot to the touch. Running as fast as she could, Jillian made her way to the airlock.

Seeing what she was intending to do, Star hit the airlock button and gave Jillian a little extra shove as the door slid open. Losing her balance, Jillian tumbled out of the space station.

Knowing that it was too late to save herself, Jillian’s primary thought was to protect the others from her overheating phone. Thrusting with all her might, Jillian threw her phone away from her. It floated five feet away and exploded. Jillian was thrown into a tumble, as darkness circled her mind.
