Happy Mothers Day
Dear Reader,
Given that Mother’s Day is right around the corner, I feel that it’s only right to hold off on the blog that I had originally planned for this week, and write another dealing specifically with this spectacular holiday. In America, Mother’s Day became an official holiday in 1914, when it was signed into law by President Wilson (Anna Jarvis founded it in 1908, with the intention of honoring the sacrifices mothers made for their children). The holiday took off, and quickly became a money maker for the flower, food and card companies, just to name a few. After all, who wouldn’t want to honor their mother for all the years they put them through (brownie points?). For any other information dealing with Mother’s day, feel free to checkout this site. http://www.history.com/topics/holidays/mothers-day
Sincerely,
Richard M Polk
A Note to Mother::
Mother
A rose by another name
Is still not as precious
As you are to me
Mother
The bond we share
Is forged by God above
And kissed by his angels
Mother
I know not how to thank you
For all you’ve done
So on this special day
All I can do is wish you the best
Knowing that nothing I can do
Will ever replace you
Sincerely,
Your undeserving son.
