Crow's Questions Part 3
As he came around, Amos found himself latched tightly to a bareback metal chair. Struggling against his restraints, he quickly realized that this was a useless gesture. For better or worse, he was going to have to see this out to its final conclusion. A chime sounded, and the large archaic blue mirror shimmered, as the characters walked out from the mirror. They all took their seats, which had been previously moved, so that they now surrounded Amos.
Looking from frowning face to frowning face, Amos gulped and began to ponder his fate. Then his gaze fell on Crow. He had a smile on his face, like that of a thousand watt bulb. “So nice of you to join us today,” purred the Crow. “Now this is how this is going to work. I’m going to ask you three questions, and you’re going to answer me. If I don’t like your answer, or I believe that you’re lying to me, then you’ll get punished, just like you punished us. Is that clear?”
“Yes,” gulped Amos. “Whatever you want to know, I’ll tell you. Just don’t hurt me.”
“Hurt you? My dear boy, we’d never do anything as barbaric as that now; would we boys?” crowed, Crow, flashing his smile at the other characters.
“Right, we’ll just make him comfortable,” smirked Tinnese. “Danny you fluff his head, while I give his gut a knuckle sandwich. We wouldn’t want our precious narrator going without, now would we?”
“After all, that’s what good hosts do, don’t they boss?” Added Danny, as he and Tinnese moved in, menacing, towards Amos.
Amos slammed his eyes shut, wondering if this was the end, when two hard hands started massaging his head, while a third slammed hard several times into his stomach. “That’s the spirit boys,” Tinnese heard the Crow say.
A hard slap ricocheted across his face, knocking him over. Amos groaned. “I thought you were dead,” a harsh soft voice said into his ear. “If you survive this, we have a lot more to talk about.”
Amos screamed.
“Symphony, you really do bring out the best in men,” teased the Crow. “I’ll tell you what. When we finish with him, he’s all yours.”
Amos started sobbing.
