Prolog
Prolog.
When I was deciding on what the next couple of blog entries would be, it dawned on me that it could only be about one particular subject: ‘The Cave.’ No, this is not boatman’s cave; nor is there any buried treasure, so to speak. This is the cave that connects the path of the way to the rest of the novel (though it can be said that the main characters never truly left the Path of the Way). Whereas I’m not entirely certain how events in the story line will play out in the next couple of chapters, I believe that I’ve found a way to hijack the rules about time travel/teleportation. Thank you Melony for your suggestion, last Tuesday about finding the means to connect the two sections. All of that is in the future, and as such, is not written yet.
Since it’ll undoubtedly play a major part in the novel, it most likely will not be included in the blog entries; except for the occasional breadcrumb (yes I do enjoy being a tease). Without further ado, here is the backdrop to the events that led up to Chapter Four Journal of the Damned.
We find Nosos and Tinnese traveling down the Path of the Way. They’re headed towards the Black Wizards castle, so that they may begin the quest; that’ll ultimately lead to Nosos finding his way back home. Having noticed that Nosos was a bit preoccupied (dealing with a nightmare he had about his wife and daughter in the previous chapter), Tinnese decides to ask Nosos to teach him how to shoot the pistol. With the hope that it will help take Nosos’s thoughts off of whatever demons he’s fighting with.
Nosos agrees and suggests that they take a break from their travels around the next bend. When they go around the bend, they stop; and Nosos lays down some basic rules about the proper handling of the pistol. Tinnese wants to shoot the pistol in the road, but Nosos suggests they go a ways down a path that leads into the woods. This path ultimately leads to an opening where they find a cave entrance. On either side of the cave entrance, were two stone pillars. One was shaped like a pulpit, and the other held a figurine- aka Danny.
While Tinnese excitedly investigated Danny, Nosos started to read a book titled, ‘Journal of the Damned’; which was located on the stone- like pulpit. And this is where the first blog picks up. Enjoy dear reader and remember, if you haven’t picked up a copy of Water Lily Pond, you can order one from the link provided on the homepage of this website.
Sincerely,
