The rights of every American citizen.

As promised, I’m continuing with the topics that I had started discussing last week and look to conclude in this next coming week. Today, I feel that it is best to talk about the rights of being a citizen of the United States and this week I’ll be discussing whether private shop owners should be forced to cater to clients that go against everything they believe in.

Now, before I began writing this, I had one particular group in mind. But as I began to put down these words upon the page, I realized that in order for me to cover this topic[RP1] with fairness and impartiality that I must include all group in my discussion.

When I say this, I mean to say that no matter what you believe, no matter if you are male or female, or which sexuality you prefer. It is your right to refuse your service to whom you please. Now this being said, it should be stated and this is of my own opinion, that if you cater to one particular group than that is fine, though it could impact your business. But if you pick and choose between one clientele and another based on how they look or appear, than this is wrong. You as a person should be ashamed. You should be clear cut and to the point as to what you believe and what causes you support.

One last point to consider is that whereas private business owners have the right to choose whom they offer their services too; so do others have the right to boycott these business. It should of course be done in a peaceful and manner.

Now that I have put down these words, I hope that they make sense. I seek only to explain my position and how it makes sense for me.

Sincerely,

Richard M Polk
